The Final Programme (1973) Costume Design by Ossie Clark & John Bates

The final programme is a British Sci-fi thriller from 1973, directed by Robert Fuest and starring Jon Finch, Jenny Runacre and Patrick Magee, who is probably best known for his role as the much victimised writer Frank Alexander in Stanley Kubrick's 'A Clockwork Orange'. The plot involves a billionaire becoming embroiled in the search for a mysterious programme which turns out to be the design used to create the perfect self replicating human being!

Definitely worth a look for some amazing visuals, and for the fashion lovers among you it's worth noting that the costumes were designed by John Bates, Ossie Clark and Tommy Nutter. The hair consultant on the film was none other than Leonard as in Leonard of Mayfair, probably most well known for his now iconic Twiggy cut, which essentially launched her career after the Daily Express featured it in an article with the opening line "This is the face of '66."
